Homesteading has become quite the trend. I think that’s a good thing, which is a good thing in and of itself because we like to call ourselves homesteaders. That word has kind of a romantic feel to it. Kind of retro without being quaint. Rustic, even, like a splintery board from yesteryear. But I digress.
So you want to be a homesteader… I get that. The longing to live on your own land, grow your own food and learn a lifestyle of self-reliance and simplicity. It’s one of the reasons we moved our family half way across the country just to find the right place to settle our roots. Whatever
Well, spring arrived here in Iowa…and then it quickly slipped back into winter. The last couple days temps have plummeted back down to the high thirties. It was seventy-five last weekend, just to give you perspective. And while the rain is keeping us out of the fields, it is a necessary blessing. The radish, carrot
